This Sunday, June 20th, marked the release of Bouture, the latest album by Flavie Léger-Roy.
The new album offers an introspective and meticulous body of work, brought to life by a collective of seasoned musicians. The project stands out for its organic blend of folk aesthetics and traditional roots, creating atmospheres that are both textured and intimate.
In terms of arrangements, the record deftly navigates between the sobriety of acoustic folk and the energy of traditional music. It is a rigorous compositional effort, where the synergy between the performers breathes a beautiful depth into the tracks.
I had the pleasure of collaborating on this project by recording the fiddle and baritone fiddle tracks, aiming to enrich these soundscapes and engage in a musical dialogue with Flavie's vision.
An album of textures and nuances.
