Vieux airs neufs by David Brunelle

David Brunelle’s album Vieux airs neufs, released on January 10, 2025, has been nominated for the Opus 26 Awards in the category Traditional Album of the Year. I co-produced the album and handled the recording and mixing. The album is made up entirely of David Brunelle’s original compositions, paying tribute to some of his idols—Don Jean-Claude Mirandette and Simon Riopelle—while drawing inspiration from the traditional repertoire in all its richness, crookedness, and subtlety.
